While the topic of EA being a jerk has been in other threads I'd like to discuss how much of a bitch they really are.

Now I enjoy playing games with my friends most of all, and normally over the internet in this broadband age that isn't a problem.

I recently installed Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath, and the stupid game doesn't support TCP/IP gaming, it's strictly LAN or go through EA's proprietary login which is powered by Gamespy. I was pissed!! I wanted to play the game online, but I needed some retarded EA login and couldn't create one without registering the game.

What happened to just being able to install a game, and then start playing with your friends? Now you have to register, create accounts, download and install patches... Blah I say! Blah!

download (all players will have to) a program called hamachi
install, create a server, get everyone in it.
its a vpn program that sets everything up for you.
then you can go into the 'lan' game of CC3 and play together over internets!

I'll need to get the game but i'm down.

the game was terrible prior to the "kanes wrath" expansion.
kanes wrath made it playable.

That's how a lot of C&C games are. The expansion is what hooks them up. Look at Yuri's Revenge and Zero Hour.
